Welcome to Spring in Munising, Michigan

We're glad that you're here!
It's that time of the year again, when Mother Nature renews its forest with new growth and blossoming beauty for the Summer season ahead. It's also a great time to enjoy our Spring transformation in person.

Spring has sprung!

Our Spring Upper Peninsula atmosphere is quiet and peaceful- void of crowds where ever you go or what ever your outdoor recreational interests may be. You'll find most back-country inland lakes are silent and having some of the very best fishing of the season... is now in progress.

May 15th officially kicks off the Spring camping season in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It also is the start of the fishing season for clear water walleye and northern pike fishing. The trout fishing season opens the last weekend in April. Fish for brook trout, brown trout and rainbow trout in our many lakes, rivers and streams. The Spring season is by far, one of the very best times for fishing the U.P.

If you're a photographic camera bug, it's also the perfect time to take to the woods and hike to scenic waterfalls that are rapidly flowing our deteriorating winter runoff and rain showers. Waterfalls at this time of year are the most powerful and most scenic of the entire year.

There are numerous hiking trails that'll lead you to picturesque, sand lined beaches along Lake Superior and Grand Island. There are literally hundreds of inland lakes for boating, canoeing or kayaking.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island National Recreation Area and the Hiawatha National Forest are breath-taking, scenic encounters that'll always compel you to want to return again and again.
